Vaux le Vicomte: Versailles was modeled after this French chateau and it's beyond amazing. Here I am journaling in the front yard. I mean the back yard. Throughout our trip, I journaled in many places: planes, trains, benches, hotel room, Katie's place and yes, the back yard of a chateau.
After studying this photo, I realize it looks like I'm sitting in front of a painting, but it's the real-chateau-deal. And the "house" is even farther away than it appears because there are pools, hills, and a canal in between.
In the coming days, I will share some highlights from our trip. And a few photos, too.
It was a full, beautiful, busy, amazing whirlwind of sights. See you tomorrow for day one!
